Mission Statement
The GenEq Committee works with Cambodians and our Peace Corps family to promote awareness and understanding of, and encourage action towards, gender empowerment.


    Goal #1: AWARENESS: The GenEq committee will increase overall volunteer awareness of gender issues faced by Cambodians.

      Objective 1.1: The GenEq Committee will be responsible for the preparation and facilitation of gender-related PC trainings for both current and future PCVs.

      Objective 1.2: The GenEq Committee will share information through social media to produce discussion topics related to gender empowerment.


    Goal #2: UNDERSTANDING: The GenEq committee will create and provide resources for cultivating understanding of gender empowerment and what is needed to inspire transformative action.

      Objective 2.1: The GenEq Committee will create, adapt, and share materials regarding gender and development initiatives relevant to the Cambodian context.

      Objective 2.2: The GenEq Committee will guide and encourage PCVs to collaborate with gender-focused organizations throughout Cambodia.

      Objective 2.3: The GenEq Committee will work with the established Peace Corps Cambodia committees and the worldwide Peace Corps Gender Equality Committees to create, adapt, and pilot integrated lessons.


    Goal #3: ACTION: The GenEq committee will model and foster the leadership needed to become agents of change.

      Objective 3.1: The GenEq Committee will represent Peace Corps Cambodia’s gender-initiative through piloting aforementioned resources in their respective communities.

      Objective 3.2: The GenEq Committee will work towards bringing a Training of Trainers Camp GLOW to Cambodia by the year 2020.
